Why are you looking at me? 2024

What draws people to the moving image? What gives moving images the hypnotic power that keeps you glued to the screen and how is that power utilized? Why do we watch? These are the questions at the center of Why are you Looking at me? A three act video performance guiding the viewer on a journey that explores these questions through a combination of video performance and narrative film techniques. My BFA thesis project.

Skating Jawa Edit 2022

Inspired by Jawa style video editing, this video was made using skate footage from skate videographer/photographer Fred Zahina.

PNCA 48 HR Animation Jam 2024

My response to the prompt “a place you’ve never been before” for the PNCA Spring 2024 48 hour animation jam. A direct animation made using fine point sharpies and 16mm film leader.

I chose to make an animation using the song Resonance by Home, because this song drips with nostalgia, drips with the past. The past is not just a place I've never been, but a place I can never go.

The Littlest Snail 2023

Short film created for the animated CO-lab class at PNCA Spring 2023. I was the producer, head of sound, and co-editor for this project. Password to view the film on Vimeo is “ snails ”.

To Live 2022

A charcoal rotoscope/puppet animation inspired by a quote from Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment. I chose charcoal because of its ephemerality. As a medium, it lives and breathes, resists control.

Voice over featuring David Zahina jr.

With my Own Body 2023

An experimental short film created using self produced video, found video, and animated textures. This project was not only a learning experience, but an attempt to explore feelings of invasion and bodily autonomy.

Animation for this project was made using traditional and digital hand drawn loops, and After Effects layering techniques.
