About Me (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Agnes Zahina is an experimental animator, video artist, and VJ from the Pacific Northwest. She is fascinated with the dynamic between the viewer and the viewed, and the ways video can be used on and off the screen to examine this dynamic.
Her work often lives within the world of live performance while also taking inspiration from the techniques of traditional narrative cinema. She explores the give and take between the creator and the consumer, the artist and the audience. Agnes’ work frequently involves blending self produced video, found video, and animated textures to create non narrative and abstract pieces.
Themes of immediacy, reality, and the nature of moving image as a medium, are common threads throughout her portfolio. She places priority on how the materials and methods of her work emphasize the message of each piece.
